The Golden Triangle Tour is a tour of three iconic Indian cities Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. All three of them have historical significance and resemble India’s heritage, cultures, history, and a glimpse of modern India. 

This Golden Triangle Tour by Exquisite Indian Holidays is designed to ensure that you experience every bit of all three cities with comfort and carry plenty of memories with you. 

Our tour guide will accompany you to all the destinations. Your preferences will be considered paramount throughout the tour. Opt for different local guides for different places or choose a single one for all the destinations; the choice is yours. 

Here, we have two options for you to choose from. Either you can opt for a single guide for the entire tour or can go for local tour guides for their respective cities. 

So, without further ado let’s chalk out the plan for the next holiday!

Golden Triangle Tour 5N/6D Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

On your arrival in Delhi, our driver will pick you up from the airport/hotel and will take you for Delhi sightseeing. Delhi is a historic Indian city that remained the center of power for a long time. The Mughals, the British, and now the Government of India rules the country from this city. We cannot emphasize much that your Delhi sightseeing experience will be full of amazement, and excitement.

Destination: Jama Masjid and Rickshaw ride experience

The first destination in Delhi will be Jama Masjid. It is a Mughal-era mosque and is the city’s prime mosque. Every Friday, a large number of Muslims gather to offer their prayers in this historic monument. The calm, the peace, and the serenity are absorbed by everybody in its vicinity. It is also very famous for its Mughal architecture. The intricacies of the work on the walls are eye-catching.

Also, experience a battery-rickshaw ride in Old Delhi. The chaotic-yet vibrant streets of Old Delhi will make you feel how ancient this city is and what the capital of the world’s largest democracy looks like.

Destination: Raj Ghat

Raj Ghat is Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial. Here the last rites of Mahatma Gandhi were performed on January 31, 1948, one day post his death.

A platform with black marble, on which “Hey Ram” (his last words) is inscribed is always covered with flowers. It is the spot of Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation and attracts tourists in flocks. Another striking thing to notice is the presence of an eternal flame which burns round the clock at one end.

Destination: Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate (Drive Past)

It is the largest residence of any President in the World. It signifies the country’s strength, traditions, and, democracy. Rashtrapati Bhavan sightseeing will be a drive-past experience in this itinerary.

We will be passing by another famous destination of the city, India Gate. It is officially known as the All India war memorial. The monument is dedicated to the soldiers of India who sacrificed their lives in wars fought between 1914 and 1919.

Lunch Break:

A lunch in any of the restaurants in Delhi will make you fall in love with Indian cuisine. Indian cuisine is all about saucy curries engulfed with flavors, spices, and a lot of hospitality. Enjoy your lunch in Delhi and relax for upcoming delights.

Post lunch, our driver will drop you at the hotel. If you wish to make Delhi a little more happening for you, feel free to add the evening Qutub Minar (optional) sightseeing experience to your itinerary as an Add on experience.

Add On Destination – Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar is a minaret and is also famously known as the Victory Tower, it is a part of the Qutub complex and is situated in the oldest parts of Delhi. The minaret is one of the tallest in the world and is surrounded by many historic monuments.

The ‘Iron Pillar’ in the Qutub complex is unique in itself; it is still rust-free in spite of standing tall for more than 1600 years. Amazing isn’t it?

Day 2: Delhi sightseeing and transfer to Agra

Early morning our driver will come to pick you up from the hotel. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and then will leave for more Delhi sightseeing. 

Destination: Humayun Tomb

It is the tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun. It is a beautiful monument built in Mughal architecture. The complex has wide green lawns filled with tranquillity and beauty. Walk across these lush green gardens and absorb the vibes around you.

Destination: Gurudwara

A Gurudwara is a holy place of worship for the Sikhs. If you wish to add a pinch of spirituality to your Golden Triangle Tour, a visit to Gurudwara Shri Bangla Sahib will give you spiritual elements to soak in and absorb for a lifetime. Spend some time here in a spiritual surrounding and then will head towards lunch. 

Lunch and transfer to Agra. 

Post Delhi sightseeing, we will leave for Agra via Yamuna Expressway. You can have your lunch en route to Agra at your preferred restaurant. The commute to Agra will consume 3-4 hours with facility breaks in between. Upon your arrival in Agra, you will be dropped off at your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3: Destination: Agra Sightseeing

Your day three will be all about the early Mughal-era capital Agra. It has three UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Fatehpur Sikri. All of them are testament to the fact that Mughals indeed lived a filthy rich lifestyle. 

Destination: Sunrise Taj Mahal sightseeing

Taj Mahal certainly needs no introduction. It is a wonder of the world and its alluring beauty will leave you wonderstruck. The gargantuan Mausoleum was built by Shah Jahan, in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.  There is a lot to see and hear about the Taj Mahal. It is advisable to wake up at least 30 minutes before sunrise to experience this wonder of the world at its best. The experience will be a delight and on top of it, our tour guide will leave no stone unturned to ensure you get every piece of information that makes this Ivory-white marble monument the most beautiful monument in the world. 

Destination:  Agra Fort.

Agra Fort is in close proximity to the Taj Mahal. It is a similar fort to Red Fort in Delhi but with a different design & aesthetics, history, and events. It was one of the prime residences of the Mughals, The East India Company, and the British. 

The scenic beauty of the Red Fort alongside the river and the Taj Mahal in a frame will make your jaw drop. We bet, it will invigorate your desire to explore more. Make sure you enjoy your time here and give a good stroll. 

Lunch Break

Good food makes our souls happy. Post your Agra Fort sightseeing, you’ll have a lunch break. There are plenty of good Restaurants in Agra to taste and relish a wide range of cuisines including Mughalai cuisine that reflects the dining preferences from the Mughal era. 

Marble and Inlay work tour

Agra city is also popular for its handicraft industry. There is an enormous pool of talent working and creating pieces of craftsmanship. There are several handicraft shops and rugs stores where you can explore and listen to the history of artisans and their families. These artisans are the proud descendants of the artisans and weavers who used to make rugs and marble items for the Mughals. These handicraft shops are certainly the treasure of Indian craftsmanship and heritage. Enjoy your time here and do consider having some souvenirs for remembrance. 

Mehtab Bagh

If time permits, in the evening, you can give a visit to Mehtab Bagh, a lush green garden on the backside of the Taj Mahal. Fall in love with the mystic sunset views alongside the river Yamuna and the Taj Mahal in the backdrop.

Day 4: Transfer to Jaipur

On the morning of Day 4, post breakfast, our driver will pick you up and will take you to Jaipur; the capital of Rajasthan that is also referred to as the Pink city of India. What separates Jaipur from Delhi and Agra is its distinct architectural beauty, hospitality, traditions, culture, and cuisine. 

The commute time from Agra to Jaipur will be around 5 hours. Take sufficient facility breaks in between to stay energized throughout the drive. On your arrival in Jaipur, our driver will drop you off at the Hotel. Revitalize yourself at the hotel. Enjoy folk dance shows, puppet shows, live classical music performances, and a lot more at your hotel. 

Additional Add Ons

En route to Jaipur from Agra, you can add Fatehpur Sikri and Abhaneri to your sightseeing list. Fatehpur Sikri is a short-lived capital of the Mughals while Abhaneri has one-of-a-kind steps well. Both the places are historically significant and can be added to this tour. 

Fatehpur Sikri

It is a small city situated very close to the Taj Mahal. The gargantuan entrance to the Fort is spectacular. This citadel is huge and one of the finest examples of Mughal Architecture. It was built by Shahajan, he wanted it to be his capital city but due to a shortage of water, he abandoned it. 

Abhaneri

Abhaneri is a village a few kilometers away from Jaipur. This place is famous for its one-of-a-kind stepwell called Chand Baori. It was built in the 9th Century and its symmetrical design amuses everyone.

Day 5: Jaipur Sightseeing

Jaipur city is pure class when it comes to serenity, hospitality, culture, and traditions. The people of Jaipur love to live a life full of royalty. There are beautiful forts and palaces in Jaipur which will amuse you in many ways. The surroundings, the people, and the vibes of this city are a testament to the glorious history of this city. 

Destination: Amer Fort

Amer Fort is a historic fort surrounded by mountains and a lake. It is considered one of the top tourist destinations in the city. It’s built with light yellow and pink sandstone which gives it a beautiful color. Views from the top are mesmerizing and worthy of many Instagram pictures. Amer Fort is situated on the top of a hill and to make this experience more delightful, you can choose an Elephant ride to the fort. While coming back, there will be Jeeps to make the descent. Or else, Jeeps can be used to and fro. 

Lunch Break

Rajasthani cuisine is one of a kind! Relinquish palatable Rajasthani dishes at any restaurant of your choice. 

City Palace

Jaipur City Palace is one of the most beautiful palaces in Jaipur. The palace is dotted with fine architectural wonders and hence the footfall of tourists is the maximum here, it is a delight for the eyes and represents the regal days of the city.

Hawa Mahal

Every tourist must have seen the picture of the monument once in their lives. It’s a sight for a painter’s canvas and a visitor’s eyes. It is a palace of breeze which once restricted royal women to put ‘purdah’ if they want to witness any procession outside the palace.

Museum and Observatory (Jantar Mantar) 

The next stop in the itinerary is Jantar Mantar. It is a collection of 19 astronomical instruments which were made by the Rajput king and founder of Jaipur king Sawai Jai Singh II. Science and tech followers love this place as it puts light on some of the marvels created by then kings.

Jaipur is also very famous for shopping as it displays some of the finest silhouettes and fabrics. It is a wedding shopping paradise. From clothes to jewelry to footwear and handicrafts this place has almost any and everything. A must-visit place for any bride-to-be.

Day 6: Departure to Delhi

The tour ends on the 6th Day. In the morning, our driver will drop you at your suggested spot in Delhi. You can also choose to travel to Delhi via a flight from Jaipur.
